From sign-up to your first shell.

Everything you need to get a Box running and start working, in order.

Sign up and subscribe for £15/month, billed via Stripe. One subscription entitles you to one Box. No contracts, cancel any time.

Wait for provisioning

After checkout, your Box is created automatically. This takes 3-5 minutes. The dashboard shows live status and switches over on its own once it's ready, no refresh needed.

Open the browser terminal

The fastest way in: the Terminal tab on your dashboard. No install, no setup, works from any device with a browser.

Set up SSH (optional)

Install Tailscale on your own machine and join using the instructions shown on your dashboard the first time you log in. Once connected, SSH in directly:

ssh root@<your-box-tailscale-ip>

Find your root password

Your dashboard has a Credential Vault card. Hit Reveal to see your Box's root password, used for the SSH login above. It's encrypted at rest and every reveal is logged with a timestamp and IP, limited to 10 reveals per hour.

Connect Hack The Box

Add your HTB API key in dashboard settings and your active machine, its IP, and difficulty show up automatically while you work, no manual copy-pasting.

What's pre-installed

The full kali-linux-headless toolset: nmap, metasploit, sqlmap, hydra, hashcat, and hundreds more, ready the moment your Box is provisioned.

Cancelling

Cancelling permanently deletes your Box and everything on it. Resubscribing later provisions a brand new Box; nothing carries over from before.
